Does Dead Rising 2: Off the Record provide Actual canon content

Does Dead Rising 2: Off the Record provide Actual canon content
Just thinking while Frank West's story is a bit different in OTR, some of the back-story specifically the survivors from the Willamette or the 50 child time-bombs might not be. I was wondering if OTR incorporated some back-stories of survivors/actions except they would be canon, what your take on this would be, especially if OTR story might not be canon. Personally I would enjoy this; I would like to hear what happened to them. Did that infected girl kill herself? Did Paul get repentance or ousted after getting out? Did a memorial get set up to help remember those lost? Did Frank ever get that beer off Otis? Or did none of the people ever see the outside world and are still MIA.

While I found find that interesting, I'd also find that annoying. Resident evil 1 is the perfect example. Chris: Chris, Jill, and Rebecca live. Barry is gone. Jill: Chris, Jill, and Barry lives. Rebecca isn't even mentioned, much less seen. And yet the canon ending is that all four survived, but that means that nothing you see in RE1 is canon, since the actual events are a combination of the two. We have no way of knowing what actually happened. Which would be fine in DR2's case, but the problem is that, if the trailers are any indication, OTR is simply Frank telling the story like he was there. So the reality is, the only thing canon about OTR is the fact that Frank is telling this story.

Yea very true. It's just that all that information in DR1 has been put a side, far a side. 50 zombie child time bombs? Nothing. The suriviours? Nothing. I expected a few things to be brought up in Case West but never was. To be honest, I think trying to merge canon with this non-canon story might be a bit overdoing it. There is already too much deviation from what happened in the original. I just wish a few loose ends could get wrapped up from the first game.

I would have preferred that this game wasn’t a "If I did it, here’s how" scenario but more of a: People: "Why weren’t you there Frank?" "I was." and he tells his story. Then at the end he could find Chuck on the roof after ending A and go straight into Case West. This would have serviced all fans. And PS3 owners would have received Case West.

The cash i earned from my work in the Willamette Parkview mall outbreak has since run dry. I was scheduled to enter at TIR in Fortune City hoping i could gain enough money for my daily dose of zombrex. When i arrived, i soon realized my worst nightmare has happened yet again. i have 72 hours to uncover the truth of the fortune city outbreak. Some endings should probably incorporate chuck into them somehow, like how as stated earlier, the ending A where chuck is left behind, and frank saves him from zombie TK.
